Along with the suspension bridge, the ss Great Britain is one of Bristol’s greatest and most recognisable endeavours. Designed and launched by Isambard Kingdom Brunel back in 1843, the ship now serves as a fully fledged tourist attraction, provoking thousands upon thousands of visitors throughout the year. More than just a ship, the ss Great Britain is a vast venue with lots to do on board and tons to see. With a host of activities to entertain people of all ages, the ss Great Britain is fast becoming one of Bristol’s more favoured tourism spots.

The ss Great Britain is an extremely unique venue in that the ship is both the venue and the tourist attraction itself. Standing 9.91 metres high and with a width of over 15 metres, visitors travel from far and wide just to get a glimpse of this iconic and impressive west-country structure. The marketing team at the ss Great Britain were keen to highlight that, as static as the ship might appear from the outside, the experiences and practices that go on inside are far different. They wanted to express that the ss Great Britain is not a hollow vessel, but rather a hive of constant activity and fun.

The video starts with some exterior shots of the ss Great Britain site. The ship is so large that it has to be captured from afar, which just goes to show how beautiful and majestic the ship is. What’s different about this film is that it features Brunel himself – an extremely unique and interesting way of presenting the attraction. The video follows Brunel around the ship, showing off the main areas of interest at the ss Great Britain and highlighting the venues great facilities. The banquet hall and cafe in particular illustrate that the ss Great Britain is a warm and inviting space, ideal for corporate events or special occasions.
