Description
It’s been a long time in the making, but after years of hard graft and almost 4 million cups of tea Cabot Circus has finally arrived in Bristol. Named after John Cabot, the luxurious shopping district is a huge development for the city and has already brought employment, money and well-deserved attention to an otherwise redundant part of town. Digital Visitor had the honour of documenting the many stages of the project from the initial planning to its opening debut it September 2008 and with exclusive involvement and a whole host of cameras filming the entire performance, Digital Visitor has truly captured the very best of the Cabot Circus experience
.
The Cabot Circus ‘Making Of’ video is testament to the many stages of its development. This large-scale construction project has been eagerly anticipated and with various landmarks qualifying its progress, the Cabot Circus marketing team wanted a video to capture the entire evolution of the luxury shopping centre.
As an extremely substantial project, the video had to reflect the magnitude and significance of the arrival of Cabot Circus to Bristol. In order to boost the aesthetic appeal of the video, Digital Visitor hired animation specialist, Melvyn Ternan, to produce a special animated introduction and creative director, James Sykes, to really make the most of the film and to give the video a strong edge of sophistication and professionalism. The video addresses the several key phases of the Cabot Circus development including the topping out ceremony, the building of the glass dome and the Cantata performance which signified the near completion of the shopping district. By employing the use of time lapse photography, text, graphics and music, the ‘Making Of’ video is a top-quality promotional video.
Bristol Alliance used this video at the launch conference for Cabot Circus and will continue to use the video as a promotional tool on their website. This can also be used by the Cabot Circus contractors, potentially as a pitching device when in talks over future building projects.
